Born in Toronto my first encounter with dance was figure skating.  In grade 2 I started to figure skate and shortly after I performed in my first show and started competing. Part of my training included taking other forms of dance and introduced me to ballet modern, and ballroom dancing.

During my years at Ryerson University I started to take salsa lessons. It felt so natural and I took really fast to it. Thanks to the great environment, I learned not only to dance but to teach. At the end of studies I finished with a double major but more interestingly, I became a semi-professional Latin dancer.

I have trained in other forms of dance such as Afro-Cuban, Merengue, Cha Cha Cha, Casino Rueda, Bachata, Guanguanco, Hip Hop, and Jazz.  I have performed at Dundas Square, Plaza Flamingo, El Convento Rico, St Patrick’s Community Centre, and various private and corporate functions. I have taught at El Convento Rico, Baila Boogaloo, Malvern Library, and OLAS @Ryerson. I have also choreographed a number of Latin routines which incorporate other styles of dance hip hop styles. 

What makes dance so addictive is that it is constantly evolving and new genres are always fusing and developing.  Every genre has something to offer to the table.

With over 5 years of dance training and experience, Melyssa is truly the next big thing; at least she likes to think so!  Confidence and stage presence are a must, and that is something that Melyssa strives for in every performance and piece.  Melyssa is currently completing her Business Management degree at the Ted Rogers School of Business Management.   Stay tuned for more details.

Becky was born in Winnipeg and was introduced to dance at an early age.  She has taken hip hop for many years and been a part of performances around the city.  Now in Toronto, she is in her last year as a nursing student at Ryerson University.  She was introduced to Salsa/Merengue/Bachata in the past year and a half and cannot stop even if she tried.  You can always find her at Alley Catz, 6 Degrees, Acrobat, Plaza Flamingo, and Babaluu’s all days of the week.
